PUBLISHING OVERVIEW
Long-running features like the Justice Society of America have been separated into multiple pages by comic ages so the individual feature pages do not become overly cluttered. You can access the various ages via the links found in the masthead above.
This page covers the Silver and Bronze Ages for the Justice Society of America. After languishing in obscurity for more than a decade, the Justice Society re-emerged in the DC Universe in The Flash (1959 series) issue #137 (June 1963), which further established that DC's Golden Age characters existed on Earth-Two, separate from the modern day characters who resided on Earth-One. The next month, in Justice League of America (1960 series) issue #21 (August 1963), the group began what became an annual series of guest appearances in that title that continued until Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1986. In the mid-1970s DC re-launched the Justice Society in All Star Comics (1976 series) issue #58 (January-February 1976), which continued the numbering from the Golden Age series. That series was cancelled with issue #74 (September-October 1978), a victim of the DC Implosion, and the remaining installments appeared in Adventure Comics (1938 series) issues #461-466.
The 1980s saw a renewed focus on Earth-Two characters with the World War II-era series All-Star Squadron and the current-day series Infinity Inc., both of which featured regular appearances by the Justice Society.
